Healthy Neighborhood Kitchen Project
The project serves residents of sub-divided units in the Central, Western and Southern districts of Hong Kong Island, and promotes community participation and health support for them in the districts. The project aims to reduce the physical and mental health risks caused by the poor environment of the sub-divided units, and to develop the capacity to manage their own health and that of their family members, as well as to build a culture of health in sub-divided unit households.
The project's medicine team will conduct an integrated health needs assessment of the residents, which will provide an effective reference for future services and facilitate the development of social medicine services in the future.
Based on the concept of co-development, the Foundation sponsors the medical service fees of the Caritas programme to provide the beneficiaries with affordable and reliable medicines and medical supplies to alleviate their burden of medical expenses and improve their living habits to prepare them for a healthy future.
